Integrating with SamCart

Old Method:

Although we do not have a full API integration available for SamCart, since their system sends users to a "Thank You" page much like how ClickBank and JvZoo work, you can use the following instructions to create a registration form that can be used on your Thank You page with SamCart so members who paid can register to your Membership Site.

First, you'll need to understand how SamCart Thank You pages work in their system by following the guidelines in this article from SamCart's support:

The method below does create a situation where the registration page is accessible by anyone who has the link, so we would suggest making the link hard to remember, and also adding the following in the "page settings > other scripts > header" (in live editor) to make the pages not show up in Google Search results.

Step 1: Create the registration form

Note: PayPal Website Payments Pro should be activated under "OptimizeMember > Other Gateways" prior to continuing with this guide. You don't have to actually use or setup paypal but the websites payment pro options is the one that offers the pro forms so this needs to be activated - otherwise the PayPal Pro Forms link in the OptimizeMember menu will not show up and you will not be able to use this option.

Once you activate the PayPal Website Payments Pro, click the green "save changes" button, and then click the "OptimizeMember" link in the left menu again to refresh the OptimizeMember menu so this option will show up for the pro forms.

To create a registration form that can be added to any page in OptimizePress 2, you will need to use the PayPal Pro forms.  You do not need a PayPal account or even integrate with PayPal to make this work. 

What you will do when logged in to your wp-admin area is go to "OptimizeMember > PayPal Pro Forms" and use the top form for FREE registrations.

The shortcode will look like this:

[optimizeMember-Pro-PayPal-Form register="1" level="0" ccaps="" desc="Signup now, it&#039;s Free!" custom="yourdomain.com" tp="0" tt="D" captcha="clean" /]

Then, you can change the shortcode to allow for the correct level and package you will want to register users to.  You can also use this form any number of times and change the levels and packages as many times as you like - so you can sell any number of levels/packages and have as many unique registration/thank you pages you need.

To put users in a higher level other than FREE, change the part of the shortcode that looks like this:

level="0"

to this:

level="1"

You can also add packages as well by changing the ccaps="" to include your packages.  You can have more than one package listed as well, like this:

ccaps="package1, package2, package3"

 

Step 2: Add the Shortcode to Your Thank You Page

To add the shortcode for the registration form to your page, you would click "Add Element" in the Live Editor, and choose the "Custom HTML/Shortcode" element and just paste in the shortcode for the registration form there.

 

 

Once you add the shortcode, just make sure to test the process and make sure the registration works the way you want, and then you should be all set.
